Hilco Industrial is conducting a massive auction of Detroit’s surplus municipal transportation and utility assets in early November that will include a wide variety of old historic vehicles such as old fire trucks, buses and snowplows as well as trolley cars from Detroit's rail history.

The assets mostly come from three primary departments including The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT), The Public Lighting Department (PLD), and The Department of Public Works (DPW).

The sale of these several hundred vehicles and equipment will help the City of Detroit raise money to pay off its post-bankruptcy debt.

The assets available at auction will be available for bidder preview Nov. 3-4 and an online-only auction closes on Nov. 13.
