Maxime Dorais

International Private Equity / Junior & Opportunistic Credit - CDPQ

Mr. Dorais serves as Director, International Private Equity / Junior & Opportunistic Credit at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) in Montreal, Canada since 2017.

In this role, Mr. Dorais works on private equity investments including opportunistic credit and distressed debt special situations across North America. In this role, he has completed transactions in various industries including real estate, insurance brokerage, power & utilities, business services and retail.

Prior to joining CDPQ, Mr. Dorais was a Director at BMO Capital Partners in Montreal, responsible for private equity and subordinated credit investments in Canada and New York. He was previously at BMO Capital Markets in Investment Banking where he mainly worked on M&A mandates for public companies. While completing his degree in B-Comm and Finance at McGill University from 2007 to 2010, Mr. Dorais was also an entrepreneur and owner of Max Paver, a home improvement business in Montreal.

Mr. Dorais graduated from McGill University on the Dean's honor list in 2010. He received his International Bachelor of Economics in 2007 at Jean-de-Brebeuf College. Mr. Dorais is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) since 2014 and 2017, respectively. He has also been leading the YPO Next Generation Chapter in Quebec, Canada since 2014.
