Mr. Bobins is the chief executive of Norman Bobins Consulting LLC (NBC), which was formed in 2008 and provides financial consulting services to various clients.

In addition to establishing NBC, Mr. Bobins has spent 51 years in banking. He began his career at American National Bank and Trust Company in 1967. In 1981, he joined Exchange National Bank, which was acquired by LaSalle Bank. He retired from LaSalle Bank Corporation as chairman, president and chief executive officer in 2007. In 2008, Bobins joined The PrivateBank and Trust Company as non-executive chairman. In 2017, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) acquired The PrivateBank. Mr. Bobins is vice chairman of CIBC US Region.

Mr. Bobins is non-executive chairman of the board of Transco, Inc. He serves on the boards of AAR CORP., Omega Healthcare Investors, Inc., HALO Parent Holdings, L.P. and Pangea Properties.

Mr. Bobins is a trustee of WTTW Communications, Inc. where he served as board chairman for six years. Bobins is a life trustee of the Field Museum. He is a member of the boards of directors of the Auditorium Theatre, Brain Research Foundation, Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, Navy Pier, Inc., and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation. In addition, he is a life member of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Mr. Bobins has received numerous awards including The Civic Federation’s 2018 Lyman J. Gage Award for Outstanding Civic Contribution by a Chicagoan, Illinois Bankers Association 2014 Illinois Banker of the Year Award, the 2012 Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship, and the 2007 Order of Lincoln, the state of Illinois’ highest award.

Mr. Bobins earned his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in 1964 and his M.B.A. from The University of Chicago in 1967. He and his wife Virginia reside in Chicago.
