With 650+ employees and growing, we are searching for a hands-on human resource expert that will partner with the People Team, the CEOs, and their teams across 20 Operating Companies of varied size and scale to design, develop and deliver the full suite of HR programs and services in support of the respective business goals.   

This is a build opportunity; an opportunity to take very foundational and limited HR infrastructure to a more sophisticated and comprehensive level.  All People Programs from policy to leadership succession, are in the process of being built.  This is an opportunity to help expand the HR team and infrastructure. This role will report to the Chief People Officer and be responsible for all human resources operational functions, including process development, policy implementation, risk mitigation while also getting involved with day-to-day human resources issues by providing insight, counseling and problem resolution to business leaders, managers and employees.

 

Responsibilities:

All in partnership with the broader HR Team:

  • Develop and implement all Human Resources policies and practices. Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws.
  • Plan for, bring a POV and put actions in place to address changing workforce needs, hybrid workforce, post pandemic re-entry, etc.
  • Design, develop and deliver compensation strategy and plans.This will include defining the job architecture, pay bands, and incentive compensation strategies and plans across 20 Operating Companies.
  • Partner on development and utilization of qualitative (surveys) and quantitative (demographics, workforce analytics, turnover, etc.) data and enable the business on how to use this information for more effective workforce planning and optimization of their workforce.
  • Design, develop and deliver exit interview process, programs and tools and ensure insights are shared and actions put in place.
  • Provide full advisory support to leaders, managers, and employees on various HR-related topics such as leaves, compensation, employee relations matters, and resolve any issue that may arise.
  • Oversee administration of benefits plans, on-boarding, off-boarding, leave of absence, payroll, and other HR operational matters. This comes in the way of managing a manager level People Partner.
  • Partner with People Team to design, develop and deliver performance management, manager effectiveness, job architecture, learning programs, and other priorities as defined by the People Team.
  • Partner with People and Finance teams on design, development, and implementation of Workday (launch date is April 1, 2022).This includes communication and training.
  • Partner with People team and Hilco leadership on M&A transactions and sale of companies, as arises; support people issues throughout due diligence and integration.
  • Work with leaders and managers to effectively diagnose organizational issues and partner with People Team and business teams to resolve.
  • Collaborate with Op Co CEOs on the implementation of all HR initiatives to optimize talent, structure, process, and culture.
  • Co-lead the annual performance management, bonus, and merit processes.
  • Coach and build capability of leaders and managers.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as Human Resources Business Partner, People Operations, or senior people partnership roles, preferably in professional services, supporting an entrepreneurial, diverse, fast-paced organization.
  • Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related course of study and other certifications are preferred (e.g., a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification).
  • Experience partnering with and influencing senior leaders to help drive their people strategies and increase business outcomes.Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience applying agility to every aspect of a role, adapting approaches and processes based on new information or a changing landscape.
  • Expertise in developing deep, trusting relationships at all levels- from entry to c-suite.
  • Strong empathy and change management skills to work through rapid growth and change.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage human resources at both the strategic and tactical levels.
  • Intellectual acumen, sound judgment, professional and personal integrity, initiative, and flexibility, combined with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a passion for building people processes and live in the data to explain the what, why and how.
  • Excellent ability to communicate at all organizational levels.
  • Assertive, high energy, independent, results-oriented demeanor, and a strong drive to succeed.
  • Demonstrated ability to set the tone and maintain HR standards in a consistent way with ability to adapt to the evolving organizational needs.

  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead and gather information from cross-functional teams both within HR and across the business.
