Financial Analyst (FP&A)

Job Description:

Hilco Redevelopment Partners (“HRP”) is seeking an enterprising and enthusiastic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Associate to support a national industrial real-estate development platform.  We are seeking a talented, outgoing, and motivated individual with a financial and accounting background, interpersonal skills, and industry experience that is looking to grow with our organization and build a long and successful career.  The FP&A Analyst will be a key member of the team that is responsible for the development and redevelopment of assets into industrial distribution centers, e-commerce facilities, rail-related assets, energy-related assets, mixed-use properties, and infrastructure assets. 

The candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the industrial or commercial real-estate development and/or construction industry.  The individual will be based in our downtown Chicago office and will report to the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis and will support the team in a day-to-day financial capacity, performing analyses and financial reporting and forecast/budget processes. This person will conduct financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operations, while working closely with and supporting senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing forecasts which includes coordinating the collection, analysis, and delivery of forecast data.
  • Assisting the preparation of annual business plans and budgets.
  • Supporting the integration of technology into the forecasting process and standardizing the forecast/budget process.
  • Forecasting capital calls and distributions for joint venture capital partners.
  • Providing analytical support for investments including operating, capital, and financing analyses.
  • Producing monthly reports which include financial and operational results
  • Ongoing maintenance and management of key data records which drive various reports for senior management.
  • Performing special projects and ad-hoc analyses which are determined by senior management.
  • Assisting VP of FP&A with overall reporting enhancements and assessment of future BI strategies and implementations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis; the real estate industry experience is preferred.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as Yardi; prior experience using Yardi preferred but not required.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, personal and professional integrity, with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to transform raw data into insight for the business.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with comfort in interacting at all levels, both internal and external to the organization.
  • Ability to multitask and meet all deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to provide extra effort when necessary.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrates a drive to continuously improve work methods and offer solutions that are cutting edge
