IT Product Specialist

The IT Workday Specialist will support Hilco Global’s implementation of both Workday HCM and Financials across the entire company.

Candidates must have significant maturity and will have supported end user communities with Workday projects and use that are significant in scope and impact.  An emphasis will be placed specifically on Workday user experience and, in particular, Workday HR (HCM) and Financials knowledge and support.  Incumbents will possess a deep and thorough knowledge of the Workday software and platform and have a consulting mindset when it comes to assisting users and teams meet process requirements with Workday and solve Workday problems in the Hilco environment. The preferred candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of and passion for improving Finance and HR work processes with Workday technology. Although this position will report to the Hilco’s Chief Technology Officer, it’s primary day-to-day customers will be Hilco’s Chief Financial Officer, Chief People Officer and their collective staffs.


  • Be the main hands-on support for all Workday product related IT/technical questions, problem solving, training, technical deployment knowledge and use
  • Be the primary point of contact and technical problem solver for The HR Team’s use of Workday HCM including Core HR, recruiting, talent and performance management, compensation, etc.
  • Be the primary point of contact and technical problem solver for Hilco’s Finance Team’s use of Workday
  • Maintain and support all the HR and Finance business processes implemented in Workday
  • Understand and own Workday’s integration environment and connectivity to other Hilco used systems
  • Ensure that system/product risks are identified, understood and are managed throughout Workday’s lifecycle at Hilco
  • Own, understand and support users in the creation and management of system and custom reports and dashboards
  • Own, understand and support the technical administrative functions within Workday
  • Own, understand and support user teams in requirements analysis, design, solutioning, testing of system adds/improvements or changes
  • Assemble and coordinate external resources when necessary to solve user problems and/or meet Hilco system requirements in a timely manner
  • Manage smaller Workday implementation and improvement projects over time
  • Day-to-day coordination and management of the contracted Hilco Workday help desk (outsourced function)
  • Coordinate and support the Workday security function with Hilco’s IT Security and Compliance manager
  • Ensure that Hilco/Workday contracted liabilities, obligations and technical rights are understood and controlled on a day-to day basis.
  • Prepares requests for proposals and helps to conduct necessary meetings to facilitate selection of products, services and skills needed to support Hilco’s use of Workday whenever necessary.
  • Reports to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and works with Finance, HR and Hilco’s Businesses to ensure adequate resources are applied to Workday’s day-to-day use and long-term success at Hilco.

  • Skill in training and explaining Workday capabilities to end users
  • Skill in planning and preparing written communications around Workday use.
  • Skill in technical planning of Workday system improvement projects.
  • Skill in working with groups to build consensus around Workday solutions.
  • Skill in effectively serving a varied and divergent customer base.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel including department management and system end users.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting or related fields
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience supporting ERP requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of supporting Workday in a technical and/or end user capacity
  • Excellent communication skills at/with all levels of staff and management
