Senior Financial Analyst

Northbrook, IL

This role will support the SVP of Strategic & Financial Planning as well as cross functional business teams on evaluating strategic opportunities, monthly reporting for new business lines, and ad hoc analysis. As part of the finance team, this role will have engagement with executives, leaders, and decision-makers at the company. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional that enjoys digging into the data and working with a team to develop scenarios to support mobilization plans for the business. The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide insights to optimize business decision making; analyze new business development opportunities to provide understanding of economics and risk. Ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical skills, financial modeling, communication, and feel comfortable both establishing and improving processes.


  • Create in-depth and dynamic financial models in excel for strategic opportunities
  • Provide analytical support for investments including operating, capital, and financing analysis
  • Responsible for tracking the performance of investments across the Hilco Global platform including analyzing reasons for variances and reporting to senior management
  • Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management
  • Assist with due diligence and underwriting of investment opportunities
  • Perform complex financial modeling including development financial statements and cash flow forecasting as required
  • Performing special projects and ad-hoc analyses which are determined by senior management

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
  • 6+ years of finance and accounting experience
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: creating dynamic templates to be utilized by global colleagues, layered SUMIF and VLOOKUP formulas, diagnosing formula errors, etc.)
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: advanced and dynamic charting, dashboards, etc.)
  • Must be familiar with financial models and tools used to determine project financial benefits and profitability such as: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Return on Investment (ROI)
